The rise of generative artificial intelligence (“GAI“) technologies presents a multifaceted legal landscape that demands thorough exploration and regulation. Our research paper discusses the techniques behind generating various types of content through GAI models and lays forth a description of the training processes for these models. We have analyzed the legal implications of such models across various areas, including intellectual property, data privacy, liability, and ethical considerations. The paper also delves into how current laws apply to AI-generated content, the challenges in assigning authorship and ownership, apportionment of liability and the potential for misuse through deepfakes, misinformation and bias in GAI outputs. In addition to analyzing the legal complexities associated with GAI, we have also explored ways to create robust frameworks to manage GAI’s impact responsibly.
