Lookout circulars (LOCs) are in the nature of alerts at the ports of entry against individuals involved in cognisable offences. While certain actions may be proposed against such individuals, they may be deemed evasive or not cooperative. In such cases, certain designated Indian authorities may issue such LOCs.
In this podcast, Alipak Banerjee and Shweta Sahu explore (a) the circumstances under which LOCs can be issued; (b) the process of issuing LOCs and authorities who can issue LOCs; (c) remedies available when LOCs are issued.
